INSPIRING SOLE SEMI-FINALIST - HEIDI WIRTZ
Heidi Wirtz is not only an exceptional athlete, who has led the way for women in the world of climbing, but she is also dedicated to raise awareness for charitable causes. Inspired by her love of rock climbing and traveling, one of Heidi’s goals is to use her fame in the climbing community to help others.

Athletic Accomplishments
- Made the first free ascent of the South
  Howser Minaret via "Bad Hair Day"
- Holds the womans speed record on both "The
  Nose" of El Capitain and "The Regular
  Route" on Half Dome in Yosemite Valley
- First Ascent of "Qui Lombo" (5.11+) (2,000
  feet) on San Rafeal in Patagonia/Argentina
Charitable Endeavors
- Raised more than $3,000 for the dZi Foundation
- Co-founded the nonprofit, Girls Education
  International
- Volunteered at the Khumbu Climbing School for three years
Goals
- To further develop the Girls Education
  International project in Pakistan
- To continue to volunteer her time to help raise
  money for various other charitable causes
